Société Hippique Française (SHF)
Société Hippique Française is an association approved by the French Ministry of Agriculture as a breeding institution dedicated to sport and leisure horses and ponies, from birth to 6 years of age.
Its missions are as follows:
BRING TOGETHER
SHF brings together all those involved in the production, development and marketing of young sport and leisure horses and ponies:
- Breeders, riders, drivers, owners of young horses and ponies
- Breeding organisations
- Regional breeders' associations
- Judges, technicians and personalities recognized for their expertise
This new, enlarged form of representation of the Board Members gives SHF weight and legitimacy in its dealings with the public authorities and the French and international institutional instances.
New orientations and actions are decided in consultation and on behalf of the sector, and take into account the general interest.

SHF circuits
SHF aims is to select and prepare horses and ponies for top-level competition in 6 disciplines:
- Show Jumping (CSO)
- Eventing (CCE)
- Dressage
- Driving
- Endurance
- Hunter
The various events on the regional circuit qualify for participation in the annual National Finals organized by discipline and age group:
- Fontainebleau / Show Jumping Ponies
- Fontainebleau / Show Jumping - Hunter
- Pompadour / Eventing
- Fontainebleau / Dressage
- Lamotte-Beuvron / Driving
- Lignières-en-Berry / Endurance
For Show Jumping, Eventing and Dressage, SHF offers 3 parallel circuits which provide gateways from one to another:
- the "Cycle Classique", specifically designed for "professional" riders,
- the "Cycle Libre", adapted to "amateur" riders,
- the circuit to train horses that enter the circuit tardily
